Austrian remix wizards Wild Culture have just dropped new tracks on their Soundcloud. 'The TIDE/ With You' is a double helping of dancey, infectious House-ness. I'm loving 'The Tide,' it rolls smoothly with a deep, thick bass line and its funky flares give the track a slick groove.
Berlin Techno royalty Ellen Allien lands in London this December to headline The Playground's end of year spectacular at KOKO.
Joining her will be fellow Techno pro Luke Slater, as the mighty Planetary Assault Systems and Detroit icons Octave One. Also on the bill are Dasha Rush, A Guy Called Gerald and a Bad Life records take over in room 2 featuring the sounds of Raving George and Brazilian duo MIXHELL.
Previous Playground shows this year have featured the likes of Derrick May, Leftfield & James Lavelle, no doubt this event will continue in delivering quality music!
Aphex Twin grabbed our attention when he flew a blimp over London to promote his new album 'Syro.' Now it seems he might grab a Grammy too!
Aphex Twin is one of many electronic artists who have been shortlisted for the new, 'Best Dance Album' category for the 57th Grammy awards next year. It seems that the awards ceremony is trying to redeem itself for its previous clumsy attempts at recognising the dance music scene, they caused embarrassment last time when they tried to "Tribute" EDM.
The new category highlights the successes of artists like Little Dragon, Aphex Twin, Disclosure and ZHU. The ceremony will kick of Feb 8th 2015!
Beats that glisten like Pearly Whites. Check out the new track from Thriftworks, one of 10 off his new album 'Fadest.' After tasting huge success by topping the Bandcamp Top Sellers with 'Fade' and getting respect from electronic mogul EARMILK, this release is sure to garner even more success for this productive producer!
Detroit Veteran Carl Craig has announced that he plans to hit up selected cities with a new event concept, Detroit Love, and release an album of the same name.
First destination will be Tokyo's Liquid Room for a Red Bull Music Event where Floorplan will support. Next will be Miami Trade for an all nighter with Matthew Dear, followed up the next night by a party at Brooklyn's Verboten. The Detroit Love will spread into 2015 with a performance at Bloc's mighty return in March, a return to Miami Trade and a set at Nuits Sonores in Lyon.
Info on the album is still very 'Hish Hush,' but watch this space for updates!
Nuage makes a triumphant return to Translation Recordings with another serving of smooth, sublime beats! His last outing, "So Long," forged a different path for Nuage (who had previously focused on DnB) and his latest offering, "Prints Of You," seems to go deeper down this path. Fans of old need not worry though, there's a beautiful DnB collaboration with Gerwin titled "Lifestyle" that harks back to his Fokuz days.
Peaking Lights
have announced the details of their upcoming LP Cosmic Logic and have given us a sneak preview of what to expect
with Everyone And Us. Everyone And Us is a piece of tightly
constructed electronic pop with some of the most spirited synths we’ve ever
heard. Listen to the track below, and keep your eyes and ears peeled for more
details on the album (it's out on October 6th).

funky house vibe to it with hints of disco and an insistent bass which will be

Panasonic announce revival of
Technics brand
Panasonic’s much-loved Technics brand is being given a
dust-off and reintroduced into the wild. The company revealed a new range of
audio equipment under the brand name, including speaker systems, amplifiers,
controllers…even a CD player. A glaring omission from the line-up, however,
were turntables.
For audio-fanboys and girls hoping for a new series of
SL-1200s (I’m including myself in this one), this is pretty gutting. Technics
SL-1200s and 1210s are the industry standard decks which you will see in most
commercial music venues, and are used and loved by established artists, bedroom
DJs and audiophiles alike. Panasonic discontinued them in 2010 and since then
second-hand decks have been much in demand, with prices for a single turntable
peaking at more than £500.
Panasonic haven’t commented on the decision not to include
turntables in the new range of Technics products. Hopefully, the company are
just trying to generate suspense and whip up some hype before announcing a new
series of 1200s in the near future. With the turntables’ die-hard fan base,
respected reputation and fashionable brand name, it seems like a business
no-brainer. Fingers crossed the boys in Japan are thinking the same thing.
SOPHIE is not what you expect a DJ to be at all! Despite the female name, SOPHIE is actually a male DJ with a different theme to DJing. He mix and blends deep bass with high pitched keys and fills it with an abundance of unusual sound effects to give you several playful disco tracks, rather than your typical club smashers. Not designed for the club SOPHIE’s track ‘Bipp’ is almost like a child singing over a video game themed orchestral instrumental. Whereas track entitled ‘Elle’ is undisputably full of a keyboard of sound effects. If club bangers is what you’re looking for then stay away from any club that SOPHIE is DJing at! But if a good beat boxing backing track is your thing then tune into the likes of ‘Bipp’ and ‘Elle’ now!
