Wild Culture pay homage to the 80’s on new CAEZAR remix

Wild Culture have put their spin on indie-pop trio CAEZAR’s ‘Hold On’. The synth-heavy remix 'Hold On (Wild Culture Back To The 80s Remix)’, as the name suggests, is an 80’s inspired rework of shimmering intensity.

Wild Culture are no strangers to the circuit, discovered by  German duo Tube&Berger. They have themselves been remixed by a string of renowned artists, including Lexer, Nico Pusch and Purple Disco Machine.

The track is lifted from CAEZAR’s new EP, ‘HAIL!’ The Remixes EP (a follow up to recently released ‘HAIL!’) featuring remixes by Kitsune label delegates Is Tropical (UK Music Video Award - Best Animation and Best Rock/Indie Video, Antville Music Video Awards - Video of the Year), In Flagranti (who have remixed music from a host of acclaimed artists, including Erol Alkan, Crystal Fighters, Benny Benassi, Moonbootica, Bag Raiders, Blood Orange, Franz Ferdinand, Röyksopp and The Avalanches),  BAXT and MAKESHIFTER.

The track is energetic and club-ready, an impressive ode to the original that resonates with 80’s vibe while paying homage to the original. Here Wild Culture lean towards the retro/vintage end of the spectrum and deliver a pleasant and uplifting sonic journey.

MYSTXRIVL and enjoii to release Pure White' on Liquid Ritual's forthcoming Volume 2 compilation

Polish electronic music usually flies under the radar, but MYSTXRIVL and enjoii plan to change that with the release of 'Pure White' pulled from UK wave label, Liquid Ritual's forthcoming Volume 2 compilation LP due on Wednesday, May 29.

Known for their bombastic breakdowns and ethereal aura within the underground bass and wave community, MYSTXRIVL and enjoii have forged a grunge heavy affair that blends vivid vocal stems with brutal bass. 'Pure White's baroque structure is designed to flaunt Poland's surging wave scene. The propulsive progression elevates the single from the underground into a new era of European dance music.

Wave’s prevalence around the world has been on the rise as local scenes continue to evolve. The likes of BBC Radio 1 (UK), Mixmag (UK), Complex (UK), triple j (AU), FBi Radio (AU), Stoney Roads (AU), FUXWITHIT (CA) and Block fm (JP) have all recognised Liquid Ritual artists and releases as the "ones to watch." Liquid Ritual and the wave community they have built has advanced the avant-garde genre into the mainstream.

This international attention hasn’t gone unnoticed, with tastemakers such as RL Grime being an active follower of the r/wavepool sub-reddit, as well as performing wave at renown festivals such as EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival). Additional support from heavyweights, Hardwell and Porter Robinson have all added Liquid Ritual releases to their setlists.

"Sorry to disappoint, but there's no inspiring story or glamour around the production process... We're just two friends who made some music together. Fun fact, a majority of 'Pure White' was written in enjoii's kitchen." - MYSTXRIVL on 'Pure White'

Be sure to keep an eye out for more tracks from Liquid Ritual's Volume 2 compilation LP in the coming weeks.

Rich Aucoin’s Music Video for ‘The Other’ is Everything You Need Right Now

Canadian Indie Electronic musician, Rich Aucoin offers up the music video for ‘The Other’ on 9 May and has quickly become my favourite video for the year 2019 so far. And it’s only his second single for the year, folks, in preparation for his album entitled Release, set to drop on 17 May via Haven Sounds.

Aucoin has this incredible way of fusing electronic with organic sounds and while he is definitely not the only producer doing this, there is just something special about his sound. Clean lines and crisp sound that just overwhelms the listener with emotion. It’s just… so damn pure that it hurts in the best possible way.

The music video takes place on an alien planet where life is segregated and ruled by beings donned with white masks, keeping blue and red masked citizens separate and thereby controlling the narrative of their lives. But like with all stories of this kind of mental slavery, it takes one person to spark the rest into action.

Watch the video for ‘The Other’ here.
